Auto wireless connect


HP’s new service called Auto Wireless connect will allow the user to connect their 123.hp.com/ojpro8710 printer to the wireless network automatically without asking the user to connect an cables/wires or enter the wireless network settings such as the network name and passwords. Several updated versions of HP printers have this capability and one can enable it during the installation process.

Wireless connection


The wireless setup wizard can be run from the 123.hp.com/ojpro8710 printer’s control panel itself. This also means thatthose printers which do not have a touch display will not be able to make use of this option. Withthe use of wireless network connection, you can literally command your printer to perform the printjob from anywhere and anytime.123.hp.com/ojpro8710

USB port


A wireless connection can be setup through the USB ports. This is feasible when the HP printers do not have a touch display. During the software installation, one can specify that you will be using the USB wireless connection. Connect one end of the USB cable to the 123.hp.com/ojpro8710 printer port and the other end to the computer. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process.123.hp.com/ojpro8710

HP Wired setup windows


Requirements:

  • Ensure that you have a network router, switch or any hub with Ethernet ports.
  • Make sure that your computer is connected to the router.
  • Gather an Ethernet cable. (NOTE: Do not use a standard telephone cable)
Steps to follow:

  • Switch on the HP Officejet Pro 8710 printer.
  • Remove the protective cover from the Ethernet port which can be located on the rear of the printer.
  • Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the HP Officejet Pro 8710 printer port and then connect the other end to the port available on the network router.
  • Navigate to 123.hp.com/ojpro8710 and enter HP Officejet Pro 8710 printer. Now, follow the instruction displayed on your screen to download the necessary driver. Based on your printer model, the guided driver installation app HP Easy Start might download.
  • Now, go to the HP Customer Support – Software and Driver Downloads, enter HP Officejet Pro 8710 if prompted and then make sure you choose the correct operating system version is selected.
  • When asked by the installer to choose the preferred printer connection option, choose Wired Network to continue with and finish the setup process.
  • Give a test print, scan or fax to confirm that the printer is working.

  • Return back to the HP installer to finish the installation.
