How to connect the HP printer to your smartphone or tablet?

With the use of web services in your HP Envy printers, you can access theinternet in a jiffy, obtain documents and print them without any hassles.

NOTE: You cannot make use of these web services if your printer is connectedthrough an USB cable.

The two types of Web Services are,

  • HP ePrint and
  • Print apps


How to set up Web Services?

SET UP WEB SERVICES USING THE PRINTER’S CONTROL PANEL

Your 123 HP Envy 5660 printer’s control panel will provide you an easy way to set up webservices.

  • Ensure that your HP Officejet Pro printer is connected to a working Internetconnection through an Ethernet cable or wirelessly.
  • Select Print Apps or HP ePrint from the printer’s control panel.
  • Agree to the Web Services terms of use and enable Web Services.
  • Tap on Yes in the Auto Update screen to let your printer check for andinstall your product updates.
  • The printer prints an information page when it is connected to the server.
  • Follow the instructions on the information page to complete the setupprocess.


SET UP WEB SERVICES USING THE EMBEDDED WEB SERVER

  • Open the embedded web server (EWS).
  • Select the Web Services tab.
  • Choose Setup in the Web Services Settings section.
  • Select Continue and agree to the terms of use.
  • When asked, allow your HP printer to check for and install the updatedautomatically.
  • Your printer prints an information page when it is connected to the server.
  • Follow the instructions to complete the process.

Printer Offline issue


  • Do one of the following tasks, based on the operating system you haveinstalled in your computer/laptop.
    • Windows 8: To open the Charms bar, tap on the upper-right corner ofthe desktop screen. Now, click on Settings - - > Control Panel - - >View devices and printers.
    • Windows 7: Go to the Start menu and then choose Devices andPrinters.
    • Windows Vista: Open the Start menu and navigate to the ControlPanel and then select Printers.
    • Windows XP: Start - - > Control Panel - - > Printers and Faxes.
  • Double click on the printer icon and choose See what’s printing to open theprint queue.
  • Ensure that there are no tick marks close to Pause Printing or Use PrinterOffline.
  • In case, you make any changes, print a test paper to see if the changes havereflected in the printout.
  • Also, verify if your printer has been set as the default printer.


How to verify that the printer is set as the default printer?

  • Do one of the following tasks, based on the operating system you haveinstalled in your computer/laptop.

  • Give a test copy for printing.
  • Restart the print spooler.
